Acworth Covered Patio

In 2017 I added a covered patio to our home. I had two 12ft x 12ft square slabs side by side that was there when we bought the house. I was only gonna use half of this but wanted it a little larger so I added a 4ft x 12ft slab to the end of one for a 12ft x 16ft foundation.
A nice size for a sitting area.

It all started with digging out the hill in the back and adding a retaining wall to accommodate our new sitting area. A gluten for punishment! Even though I rented a bobcat there was still a LOT shoveling to do! But in the end it things turned out pretty good.

Acworth Remodel

In 2018 I remodeled our home in Acworth, GA. Completely gutted the lower split, approximately 800 sq ft. Completely redesigned the whole thing. This is just a portion of what I did to the house. Had a wonderful group of friends help tear down the whole thing in one day! Then Jason Webster (Reliable Repair and Renovations) and I put it all back together in about 11 weeks.

So, new floors, cabinets, appliances, counter tops, lighting, insulation, trim, sheetrock, built-ins, under cabinet outlets, bar, rough cut lumber and windows. I did not move the AC unit all that stayed. New electrical pulled for most of the lower split and some of the upper but Ill stick to the lower for now. What is shown in the pics, all for grand total of $30,000 in 2018 dollars. Now this would’ve been much more if I didn’t the labor portion or at least half. I paid Jason well for his time assistance plus materials.

Careful planning, many many revision, careful search for materials, not falling in love with one element that HAD to be used. The end product is the most important. Collectively I think it turned out to look like a million bucks!

Shower Tile

No before shots of this one but I do have some in progress shots and nearly finished shot. This was just an old fiberglass shower insert with a squeaky pan and low head room. The owner wanted something nicer that would age and not be dated. This was my last job in Georgia before moving to Florida.

So I had to add a flat ceiling in the shower cause I was never going to match that textured ceiling and I needed a transition to the wall where we were offset a hair by the existing tub on the right side of the wall (not shown) and the materials needed to accomplish the job. PVC trim all around as the transition material. This took 4 days and around $2,500 in 2018.

Edgewater, FL

In July 2019 we moved to Edgewater, Fl and bought a right spiffy house. Of course I had just finished an awesome remodel in our previous house so I had to try to give Amber something just as nice as what we just left. The following pictures show just what I accomplished.

The house was in pretty good shape overall but needed a little of our character added to it. The kitchen and both bathrooms got initial make overs. But more is still to come!

The countertops are from the excellent group over at Granite & Marble Innovations, Inc in Edgewater. They really do a great job and are very helpful. The cabinets come from All Wood Cabinet Store in Oak Hill. Great people and great prices.
